Snow

Our Neighborhood
The official yardstick snow total

My favorite tree that I like to look at while I wash dishes

Our snowman - it really gives you perspective on erosion and why the pyramids and sphinx look the way they do (though from different airborne abrasives!)

The front bushes are leaning over from the weight of the snow

Our front walk first thing this morning (the footprints are from an overzealous shoveler who knocked on our door a little after 7 am to see if we wanted him to shovel for us)

Our front walk after shoveling and snowblowing

Snow!

Nuthatch

Tyler Arboretum
This is a white-breasted nuthatch, whose particularly distinguishing feature is that he runs up and down trees (even upside down) and is therefore able to find nuts and seeds and bugs that other birds miss by walking only the "right" way.
